The company specialises in advanced radar-based sensor platforms and artificial intelligence to enhance health and safety monitoring. The company is preparing for a $30 million Series B round. 

As a Senior FPGA Engineer, your role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing FPGA-based solutions for healthcare sensor systems. You will collaborate with hardware engineers, radar systems engineers, software developers, and data scientists. Your expertise will be key in developing a custom sensor for real-time analytics on the healthcare platform. 

 

Job Responsibilities 

  • Design and implement FPGA architectures to efficiently process radar data and perform digital signal processing tasks. 

  • Develop and optimize FPGA designs to accelerate ML algorithms and enhance system performance. 

  • Collaborate with hardware engineers to define system-level requirements and interface specifications. 

  • Work closely with software developers to integrate FPGA designs into larger system frameworks. 

  • Debug and resolve issues related to FPGA designs, ensuring functionality, reliability, and performance. 

  • Conduct thorough testing and verification of FPGA designs, employing best practices and industry standards. 

  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in FPGA technology, DSP algorithms, and ML techniques to drive innovation and enhance our solutions. 

 

Requirements 

  • The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in FPGA design and implementation using Verilog or VHDL, with expertise in hardware-software integration and system testing using lab equipment. 

  • Experience in embedded HW & SW integration in bare-metal or real-time OS environments is essential, along with knowledge of communication interfaces 

  • Familiarity with custom PCB bring-up, high-speed digital design principles, and real-time data processing is required. 

  • Skills in C/C++ for embedded systems and fixed-point FPGA implementations are desirable. 

  • Experience with radar signal processing, DSP algorithms, ML, and tools like Matlab/Simulink is a plus, as is proficiency in scripting languages 

 

Education and Experience 

  • A Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience 

  • Real-world work experience in relevant roles in a commercial setting  

  • Ideally, full life cycle experience with an electronics product that has shipped and achieved meaningful commercial success
